A 48-year-old man was arrested in Ghaziabad's Khoda locality after allegedly stabbing his wife and 15-year-old daughter to death, and injuring his 14-year-old daughter at their Lokpriya Vihar residence. Police identified the suspect as Mohammad Raja Ansari, who confessed to committing the murders due to overwhelming household expenses and prolonged mental health issues.

The incident occurred inside the family’s fourth-floor apartment when Ansari attacked his 43-year-old wife, Baby Tabassum, stabbing her multiple times. When their 15-year-old daughter, Sana Tabassum, rushed to intervene, Ansari attacked her as well. Both victims succumbed to severe throat injuries at the scene. The couple's younger daughter, aged 14, suffered minor injuries during the struggle but managed to break free and flee the apartment to alert neighbors. Local residents immediately contacted law enforcement, leading to Ansari's detention at the site shortly after. According to police officials, the attack was premeditated. Station House Officer Naresh Kumar Sharma stated that Ansari had recently purchased a knife from the Ghazipur market where he worked, specifically planning the assault.

Family members disclosed that Ansari had been dealing with depression since 2022 and was undergoing medical treatment. However, he had abruptly stopped taking his prescribed psychiatric medication about a month and a half prior to the attack, causing friction within the household.

During interrogation at the Khoda police station, Ansari stated that mounting financial liabilities and health problems drove him to act, believing at the time that removing his family would eliminate his responsibilities. He expressed regret over his actions during police questioning. Bengaluru Woman Strangled by Husband After Disputes Over Social Media Reels and Mobile Phone.

The Ghaziabad police registered a First Information Report (FIR) against Ansari under Sections 103(1) (murder) and 109(1) (attempt to murder) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), based on the surviving daughter's statement. Further legal proceedings are currently underway.
