Valsad, December 15: In an incidednt of mob lyinching, a 20-year-old man was allegedly beaten to death in Gujarat's Valsad district on Sunday. The deceased has been identified as Sanjay Bhusra. The incident took place in Aslona village of the district during a panchayat. Bhusra was lynched as he refused to marry the girl with whom he was having a live-in relationship for the past one year. Notably, the girl was the deceased's fiancee. According to a report published in The Times of India, the deceased got engaged with the girl three years ago. The girl's father asked the village panchayat to intervene and save the boy. The video of the incident is being widely circulated on social media. The group of villagers thrashed the boy.

As per the report, even when Sanjay fell into a pit, the accused continued to thrash him. In the video,  it could be seen that a group of villages tried to stop the accused, but they did not stop. On the basis of the complaint, a case of murder was registered against the attackers. Seven people were taken into custody. The arrested accused have been identified as Sunil Gavli, Mahdu Gavli, Lakshman Gavli, Uttam Gavli, Chhagan Gavli, Raman Gavli and Sitabhai Gavli, reported the media house. A detailed investigation has been launched into the matter.
