Gurugram, November 14: In a tragic incident, a woman in Gurugram was pushed off the balcony by her husband after she found out about his alleged affair. Reports inform that Vikram Chauhan was booked for allegedly murdering his wife, Deepika Chauhan, 32 by pushing her off the balcony of their eighth floor flat in Ansal Valley View Society on the Gurugram-Faridabad Road. As per reports, Vikram had allegedly developed a relationship with another married woman who lived in the same society.
According to a report by IANS, Deepika’s father Harikishan Ahuja filed the complaint stating that Deepika and Vikram fell in love and married in 2013. The couple had a four-year-old daughter and a six-month-old son. Ahuja further added saying that the woman, who Vikram had an affair with, frequently visited the couple’s apartment, causing a discord between Deepika and Vikram. The victim's father added saying that when his daughter raised objections over his relationship, he thrashed her brutally. On the day of Karva Chauth on October 27, Deepika tried to reach Vikram throughout the day, asking him to come home early as she had observed a fast for him. Reports inform that when he returned, she said she was tired of his transgressions and was to Shefali’s house to confront her. Deepika, a senior official at a bank, had observed fast on Karva Chauth but met her end just hours later following a quarrel with her husband. According to a report by Hindustan Times, “Please don’t kill me, I love our children”, were Deepika's last words before she was pushed by her husband.
Sanjeev Kumar, station house officer, DLF Phase-1 police station informed that the statement is from a neighbour who is not willing to join the probe or be identified. Details by Police inform that the probe revealed that Vikram had begun planning to kill his wife after she came to know about his alleged affair with a woman named Shefali Bhasin, who was later arrested by the Police.
