Guwahati: Woman Stripped and Assaulted Inside Nightclub; Case Registered

Videos of the alleged assault have since surfaced on social media, prompting public outrage and immediate police intervention across the city.
The incident reportedly took place at Locals Cafe and Lounge in Khanapara, News18 reported. According to sources, the woman was pushed to the floor and stripped before being attacked inside the club. A video circulating online shows the woman lying on the floor without clothes while two women kick her. Some men can also be seen nearby. In another video, a woman appears to be trying to help her up before a car arrives and blocks the view. The woman’s identity has not been ascertained. She was later reportedly taken from the club’s fourth floor to what appeared to be a parking area.
The circumstances that led to the confrontation remain unclear. It is also not known what happened inside the club before the alleged assault. Investigators are attempting to trace both the victim and eyewitnesses present during the late-night hours to reconstruct the sequence of events preceding the physical altercation.
When the mediapersons reached the nightclub, the establishment was closed and its lights were switched off. No one from the club management came out to comment on the incident. Operational staff and commercial representatives could not be contacted at the venue following the circulation of the footage online.
Police have registered a case in connection with the incident. However, it remains unclear whether anyone from the club management has been questioned so far. Local law enforcement authorities have initiated an examination of surveillance footage from nearby establishments and entryways in the Khanapara commercial zone to verify the identities of the club staff and patrons seen in the videos.
