According to local accounts, the confectionery owner retrieved a bottle from his refrigerator and handed it over to the jewellery shop worker, who then delivered it to the customer. Unaware of the contents, the woman unsealed the bottle and took a quick sip, immediately triggering extreme pain.

Medical Status and Emergency Response

As her health rapidly deteriorated, bystanders and family members rushed her to a local healthcare facility. Due to the severe chemical burns and her critical state, doctors subsequently referred her to a higher medical college in Meerut for specialised treatment, where she remains hospitalised. Denu, the keeper of the jewellery store, maintained that his staff acted in good faith based on the presentation of the product. "To the best of our knowledge, the bottle was completely sealed. We handed it to the customer exactly as it was when we took it out of the fridge," Denu stated.

Law Enforcement Action

The Hapur Nagar Kotwali police arrived at the scene shortly after being notified of the accident. Law enforcement officials have since detained the owner of the confectionery shop for detailed questioning regarding his inventory. During a search of the commercial premises, investigators recovered several bottles containing acid. The confectionery owner reportedly insisted that the water bottle was securely sealed when it arrived from the supplier and was sold exactly as stocked. Hapur Shocker: Man Dies After Bike Falls Into Unbarricaded Road Excavation Pit; FIR Filed Against PWD Officials, Contractor.
