Haryana Government Launches 'SAMRIDDHI' Portal To Digitally Track and Monitor Pregnant Women's Health
Haryana launched the 'SAMRIDDHI' portal to digitally track every pregnant woman's health with unique IDs, aiming to curb maternal mortality. It features a command centre, the '102' call centre, and early alerts for high-risk pregnancies. A six-seat SAMRIDDHI Command Centre, operating in two shifts under the National Health Mission, will monitor real-time data, alerts, and referrals.
The Haryana government has introduced a technology-driven platform named the 'SAMRIDDHI' portal to digitally track and monitor the health of every pregnant woman across the state, aiming to reduce maternal and neonatal mortality rates. Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini announced that the initiative integrates the "SAMRIDDHI" portal, a state-level command centre, and a dedicated '102 Maternal and Child Health Call Centre'. The objective is to ensure continuous healthcare oversight from pregnancy through delivery and the post-partum period.
Mandatory Registration and Unique IDs
Under the new system, every pregnant woman in the state will be mandatorily registered and issued a unique "SAMRIDDHI ID", reports PTI. Irrespective of where a patient receives medical treatment, her essential health information will be updated on the portal through this ID, establishing a comprehensive digital record. Birth registrations will also be linked to the ID to monitor child health outcomes after birth.
Focus on High-Risk Pregnancies
The platform is designed to identify high-risk pregnancies early and streamline medical interventions. Auxiliary Nurse Midwives (ANMs), doctors, and health officials will receive automated information and alerts regarding required examinations, upcoming deliveries, and follow-up services. Women with normal pregnancies will be contacted periodically, while those facing high-risk conditions will be monitored more frequently. As the expected date of delivery approaches, the frequency of contact will increase to provide immediate assistance during emergencies.
Integrated Command and Support Systems
A six-seat SAMRIDDHI Command Centre, operating in two shifts under the National Health Mission, will monitor real-time data, alerts, and referrals. If a high-risk condition is identified through the call centre, the details will immediately be uploaded to the portal and shared with the command centre, facilitating district and state-level coordination for timely treatment and hospital referrals.
