In a shocking road accident in Madhya Pradesh’s Shivpuri district, five people were injured after a Thar SUV allegedly driven by BJP MLA Pritam Lodhi’s son, Dinesh Lodhi, rammed into them on Thursday morning.

The incident took place around 7:30 am under the Karera police station limits when the SUV reportedly hit a motorcycle carrying three men before also striking two women walking ahead on the road. The injured have been identified as Sanjay Parihar, Ashish Parihar, Anshul Parihar, Sita Verma and Pooja Soni. According to complainant Sanjay Parihar, they were travelling towards Thanra village for work when the SUV approached from behind at high speed. “The vehicle first hit our motorcycle and then ran into the women walking ahead,” he alleged.

Eyewitnesses and victims claimed that Dinesh Lodhi was behind the wheel. A video of the incident that surfaced online shows the accused arguing with the injured. In the clip, he is heard saying, “I was honking and using siren, why were you swerving?” He also allegedly warned a bystander recording the video, saying, “Don’t record a video.”

Police have registered a case against Dinesh Lodhi under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, including 281 and 125(A), and launched an investigation.

Reacting to the controversy, MLA Pritam Lodhi stated that “no one is above the law” and urged authorities to take strict action to ensure justice for the victims.
