Independence Day 2026: CJP Founder Abhijeet Dipke Urges PM Narendra Modi To Address Gen Z in I-Day Speech (Video)
Abhijeet Dipke, founder and national coordinator of the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP), has publicly requested Prime Minister Narendra Modi to dedicate his upcoming August 15 Independence Day speech from the Red Fort to India’s young generation, specifically addressing issues concerning Gen Z and employment.
Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke has urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to use his Independence Day address on August 15 to directly address India’s Gen Z and youth, and explain what the government is doing to improve their prospects and future. In a 37-second video posted on Instagram on Thursday, Dipke appealed to young Indians to ask the Prime Minister to make youth issues a central part of his speech from the Red Fort.
Abhijeet Dipke’s Appeal to PM Modi
Dipke said the Prime Minister should use the August 15 address to outline measures being taken for Gen Z and young people, particularly those affecting their future. He also called on young Indians to raise the demand themselves over the coming week and ask Modi to make this year's Independence Day speech focused on their concerns. What Is a Pressure Group? The Prime Minister traditionally addresses the nation from the Red Fort on Independence Day after hoisting the national flag and reviewing the guard of honour. The annual speech is used to discuss the government's achievements, policy initiatives and priorities for the coming period.
CJP Expands Focus Beyond Education
Dipke's latest appeal comes as the CJP seeks to broaden its campaign beyond the examination-related issues that initially brought the group national attention. The organisation emerged prominently during protests over alleged irregularities surrounding the NEET examination. It has since expanded its stated agenda to include education reform, unemployment and greater accountability of public institutions.
The group has said it intends to function as a pressure group rather than contest elections, with its focus on raising public issues and seeking institutional accountability. CJP’s Abhijeet Dipke Named in Zero FIR Filed Under POCSO Act Over Juvenile Participation at Jantar Mantar Protest.
'Kya Bolti Public' Campaign Planned
The CJP has also announced a nationwide campaign called 'Kya Bolti Public', scheduled to begin in September. According to the organisation, the campaign will focus on engaging directly with young people to understand their concerns, aspirations and ideas. The responses are expected to be used to prepare a citizen-driven Youth Reform Charter.
CJP co-convenor Saurav Das said education reform and unemployment would remain among the campaign's main priorities, alongside efforts to push for greater institutional accountability.
Wider Youth Concerns
Dipke's appeal comes amid growing political and public attention on issues affecting young Indians, including education, employment and opportunities for the future.
By seeking a direct response from the Prime Minister during the Independence Day address, the CJP is attempting to bring these concerns into the national political conversation. The Prime Minister's response to the appeal, if any, will be closely watched as the government prepares for the August 15 address.
