Pulwama, February 12: One Indian Army jawan was martyred, while other was injured in an encounter which broke on Tuesday between security forces and terrorists in Ratnipora area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district. The injured soldier was immediately shifted to 92 Base Hospital for further treatment. Martyred soldier has been identified as Havaldar Baljeet of 55 Rashtriya Rifles, while the name of the injured soldier is Chanderpal. According to reports, three to four Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorists are believed to be trapped at the encounter site. After the forces received specific inputs about the presence of terrorists in the area, a joint team of Indian Army's 50 Rashtriya Rifles, 182 Battalion of CRPF and SOG Pulwama launched cordon and search operation in the early hours of Tuesday. Meanwhile, mobile services have been suspended in Pulwama. Stone pelting was also reported from the encounter site. On Sunday, security forces gunned down five terrorists during an encounter in Kellam Devsar area in Kulgam district. The Police has also recovered weapons and warlike stores from the site.
