Srinagar, December 4: Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor GC Murmu on Wednesday said that the situation in the union territory has been improved. On asked when the detainees will be released, Murmu said after the "complete normalcy is restored." He also informed that internet services will be reinstated in Kashmir in phases. "Situation here has improved. Police are doing a great job, all security forces have a high-level of coordination. People participation is good, they're interested in development. On Internet ban, he said, "We are reviewing it and as the situation becomes more normal, we will do restore it phase-wise. We have already discussed it with our administration and we are taking it up."

The political leaders- including former Chief Ministers Mehbooba Mufti, Farooq and Omar Abdullah- had been under detention since August 5 when the government announced abrogation of provisions of Article 370 and dividing the state into two union territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh.
