Married Woman Killed by Lover Over Mobile Chat; Body Dismembered and Scattered
According to investigators, the motive behind the violent crime stemmed from a sudden confrontation regarding digital communication. “A dispute broke out between them over a mobile phone chat. Enraged, the accused slit the woman’s throat with a knife while she was asleep," said Station House Officer Deependra Singh.
Following the murder, the accused allegedly dismembered the victim's body and dumped the remains at multiple different locations across the area in an attempt to conceal the crime. Gorakhpur Triple Murder: Teen Kills His Elder Brother, Sister-in-Law and Nephew With Sharp-Edged Weapon Over Family Dispute in Uttar Pradesh.
This case comes amid a series of recent violent incidents reported across the state. In April this year, a 19-year-old woman was found dead in Uttar Pradesh’s Deoria district on Thursday. The villagers suspected that she was murdered.
In that separate incident, police stated that the body was found lying on the ground near a hut, while a cloth noose was seen hanging inside the hut in Baraon Dih village.
The recurring incidents of severe violence reflect broader statistical trends within the region. According to National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) data, Uttar Pradesh reported around 7.93 lakh total cases in 2023, one of the highest in absolute numbers due to its large population.
Local authorities in Jaunpur are continuing their forensic investigation and search operations to recover all remaining parts of the victim's body as the legal case against Khakharia proceeds.
