Five women farmers were killed and four others sustained injuries in separate lightning strikes across the Ramgarh and Godda districts of Jharkhand. The tragic incidents occurred while the victims were out in the fields engaged in agricultural work amid sudden adverse weather conditions.

As per a report by The Pioneer, three of the fatalities took place within the Patratu block of Ramgarh district, while the remaining two victims were reported from the Basantrai block in Godda district. Ramgarh Lightening Incidents and Casualties

As In the Ramgarh district incidents, two women were killed on the spot at Sankul village after being struck while working in a paddy field. They were identified as 45-year-old Rekha Devi and 21-year-old Roshni Kumari. More information was provided by TOI report

A separate strike at Palani village resulted in the death of 34-year-old Sushanti Devi. Two other individuals, Sunita Devi and Kanchan Kumari, sustained injuries during the same event and were promptly transferred to a local hospital in Patratu for urgent medical care.

Godda District and Official Response

Two additional fatalities were recorded in Maheshpur-Rampur village located in Godda district under similar circumstances.
