Jharkhand: Woman Dies After Being Gangraped, Stick Inserted in Private Parts; Ex-Husband Arrested

Ranchi, November 9: In a tragic incident, a woman in Jharkhand lost her life after being allegedly gang-raped by three men, including her former husband. Police informed that a stick was inserted in her private parts after she was gangrape. According to a tweet by ANI, the woman succumbed to her injuries during treatment in Narayanpur in Jamtara district on Thursday. The victim revealed in her statement that she was raped by her ex-husband on Wednesday night when she had gone to watch a play at a theatre on Kali Puja.

Sub-Divisional Police Officer, BN Singh said the woman's ex-husband has been arrested and the search to arrest the two others culprits is currently underway. An FIR has been lodged and police has begun an investigation into the matter. According to ANI, SDPO VN Singh said, “In her recorded statement, the victim said she was raped by her husband. According to a PTI report, the woman had gone to watch a play at a theatre on Kali puja on Wednesday night. The incident took place when her ex-husband and two of his friends forcibly took her to a field in the village under Narayanpur police station area. The incident came to light after locals of the village heard the woman's cries for help. They immediately rushed her to a hospital in Narayanpur town from where she was referred to Jamtara Sadar Hospital, where doctors declared her brought dead.

In a similar incident on Thursday, a 22-year-old woman was allegedly raped by a property dealer and his associate on the pretext of providing her a job in Anand Vihar area in the national capital.
