A disturbing case from Kanpur has triggered outrage after police busted an alleged s*x racket operated by a man identified as Rohit Verma, who reportedly posed as a journalist. Acting on a complaint filed by a woman from Kolkata on April 3, the Uttar Pradesh Police arrested the accused from Rawatpur area.

According to officials, a special investigation team formed under Police Commissioner Akhil Kumar recovered crucial evidence from Verma’s mobile phone. These clips reportedly show Verma engaging in violent and disturbing acts, including assaulting individuals and humiliating a youth in an inhuman manner. Further controversy erupted after visuals showed him celebrating with police personnel, where beer was allegedly sprayed during a birthday gathering. Following this, a sub-inspector, Nitin Yadav, has been line-attached over allegations of aiding the accused.

Deputy Commissioner of Police West SM Qasim Abidi confirmed that the accused has already been sent to jail. “The videos are being forensically examined, and strict action will follow based on evidence,” he stated.

Police have now launched raids at the identified hotels and are scrutinizing records to uncover the full extent of the network. The victim’s statement has been recorded under Section 164, and investigators are working to identify other possible accomplices in the case.
