Lucknow, July 4: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that no ban will be imposed on DJs during the 'Kanwar Yatra' but only bhajans would be played. The Chief Minister ordered the state police to ensure only 'bhajans' are played on the DJs and not any movie songs. The decision was taken during in a meeting held with the administration and police department at Lok Bhawan on Wednesday. The Kavan Yatra is an annual pilgrimage of Lord Shiva's devotees. During the pilgrimage, the Kanwaris (pilgrims) visit Haridwar, Gaumukh and Gangotri in Uttarakhand and Sultanganj in Bihar to fetch holy waters of River Ganga. Yogi Adityanath Diktat: No Gifts for Government Employees in Uttar Pradesh.

"Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in a meeting with the administration and police department on Wednesday at Lok Bhavan said, that DJs will not be banned during the 'Kavan Yatra' but they should only play bhajans. Earlier, Adityanath had asserted that till loudspeakers are not banned in every place of worship, the Kanwar Yatra will continue in the usual way. According to reports, the Chief Minister also ordered the district authorities to look after cleanliness of important Shiva temples across the state. He ordered them to make sure that adequate facilities like electricity, water and security are provided to the devotees during the yatra.
