Amritsar, November 26: Congress leader Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, upset over finding names of Shiromani Akali Dal leaders Parkash Singh Badal and Sukhbir Badal’s names on the foundation stone, taped his name as that of CM Amarinder Singh and other leaders in protest. While speaking to ANI, Randhawa said, “I did this in protest against Parkash and Sukhbir Badal’s names on the stone. Why are their names here? They are not a part of the executive; it’s not a BJP-Akali event.”

Randhawa also targeted Harsimrat Kaur Badal and said that earlier she had called Navjot Singh Sidhu a 'quam of gaddar', and now she is going to Pakistan, with what face she will go? He further attacked the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD), alleging that they had never taken up Kartarpur corridor issue even once when they were in power. Navjot Singh Sidhu Accepts Pakistan's Invitation to Attend Opening Ceremony of Kartarpur Corridor, Writes to MEA for Permission.

This comes after Pakistan extended an invitation to Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh and External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, to attend the ground-breaking ceremony of Kartarpur corridor on Wednesday. Sushma Swaraj Won't Attend Kartarpur Corridor Opening in Pakistan, Nominates Harsimrat Kaur Badal and Hardeep Singh Puri.

Punjab CM declined the offer citing terrorism from Pakistan. While Sushma Swaraj too expressed her inability to attend the event citing her prior commitments. Later Swaraj nominated Harsimrat Kaur Badal and Hardeep Singh Puri for the event as a representative of the Indian government.

This move from Swaraj was welcomed by Pakistan's foreign affairs minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi terming it as 'positive' response from India. Veteran cricketer and Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu accepted the invitation and is currently waiting for approval from External affairs.
