Ketan Agarwal, a 25-year-old realtor based in Pune, died after a fatal fall from Lohagad Fort. According to the police, his fiancée Siya Goyal and her alleged lover Chetan Chaudhary had conspired to kill him and stage the incident as an accident. The investigation has since focused on digital evidence, deleted chats and the reconstruction of the alleged crime. "Investigation has revealed that moments before Chetan pushed Ketan off the cliff after getting a signal from Siya, she had taken Ketan's phone. We are now investigating whether Siya destroyed any evidence on the phone. Cell phones of the people involved have been sent for digital forensic analysis," said a police officer, according to The Indian Express.

As per the probe so far, Siya and Chetan had deleted their chats in a bid to destroy evidence and avoid suspicion. Earlier, police said the duo had decided on a "signal" that would serve as an indication for Chetan to push Ketan off the cliff.
According to investigators, Siya and Chetan had planned that once she sat on the ground on the pretext of tying her shoelace, Chetan, who was wearing a hoodie, would allegedly push Ketan off the fort. Police said the plan was intended to make the death appear accidental.
Crime Scene Recreation At Lohagad Fort
Earlier in the day, Chetan Chaudhary, the co-accused in the case, was taken to Lohagad Fort by Pune Police to recreate the crime scene and establish the sequence of events on June 18.
Police are also examining Chetan's walk through CCTV footage using "gait analysis", a technique that identifies individuals based on their distinctive walking patterns, to establish his presence at the fort on the day of the incident. Siya Goyal was also taken to the site as part of the crime scene reconstruction.
According to police, the families of Siya Goyal and Ketan Agarwal had planned their wedding for November after the couple got engaged in February.
The investigation remains ongoing, with forensic analysis of digital devices and other evidence expected to play a key role in establishing the sequence of events.
