Kolkata: IT Firm Employee Accuses Colleague of S*xual Exploitation, Forced Abortion and Cheating
A 28-year-old IT firm employee in Kolkata's New Town has filed a police complaint against a male colleague for s*xual exploitation, physical assault, and forced termination of pregnancy. The complainant alleges the accused coerced her into a relationship through false marriage promises and extortion. Police registered a formal case and an investigation is underway.
A 28-year-old IT advisory professional has filed a police complaint against a 29-year-old male colleague, who holds a trainer position, alleging prolonged physical assault, cheating, forced termination of pregnancy, and s*xual exploitation. According to law enforcement authorities, the Technocity Police Station registered a formal case under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) on August 3. The investigation is currently ongoing as officers review the allegations involving the two employees at a New Town technology firm.
Allegations of False Marriage Promises and Abuse
In her formal complaint, the woman stated that the accused colleague initiated contact in late 2025 and persistently pursued a romantic relationship. However, the complaint alleges that these marriage assurances were fraudulent. The woman detailed multiple instances of physical abuse during their cohabitation, alongside claims that she was extorted for IN 78,000.
Forced Abortion and Workplace Escalation
The situation escalated in July 2026 when the complainant discovered she was pregnant. According to the police report, the accused forcibly administered abortion medication to terminate the pregnancy against her will. Despite the internal reporting, the accused allegedly continued to harass her. Authorities have stated that statements from both parties are being gathered as part of the ongoing inquiry into the criminal complaint.
