According to preliminary findings and post-mortem examination reports, the victim suffered severe abdominal trauma caused by a sharp-edged weapon. Medical examiners reported a 35-centimeter incision to his abdomen that left his internal organs exposed, while forensic reports noted missing portions of the victim's liver and right kidney.
Police officers from the Kurukshetra University (KU) police station rushed to the scene after receiving reports from local residents regarding a heated domestic dispute. Upon arrival, authorities recovered three knives of varying sizes from the crime scene. The suspect, identified as Vimla Devi, reportedly jumped from the roof of the residential building following the incident. She sustained injuries from the fall and was immediately transported to a local hospital, where she remains under medical care and police custody. The couple, originally natives of Dhampur village in the Sitapur district of Uttar Pradesh, had been residing in Kurukshetra for approximately one year. According to the landlord, the couple had a history of frequent domestic arguments, though police state that an official motive for the killing has not yet been established.
