Deviprasad Karnik, scientist ISRO, on being asked if Vikram Lander has crashed: Data is being analysed. We don't have any result yet. It takes time. We are not sure.

According to a tweet by ANI, this is Mission Control Centre. Vikram Lander descent was as planned and normal performance was observed up to an altitude of 2.1 km. Subsequently, communication from Lander to the ground stations was lost. Data is being analyzed.

At the ISRO Centre at Bengaluru, Prime Minister Narendra Modi patted Sivan's back even as scientists were seen tensed as the lander lost communication with the ground station.

ISRO has lost contact from Chandrayaan 2 spacecraft. ISRO is yet to make an official statement about the status of Vikram lander.

It was a dramatic Thursday for Congress leader P Chidambaram. First, he was granted anticipatory bail by a Delhi court in the Aircel-Maxis case but sent to Tihar jail by another court which turned down his interim protection plea. The 73-year-old was taken in a police vehicle to the Tihar jail, where he is remanded till September 19.
