CCTV Footage Captures The Horrifying Crash
The accident took place on Thursday, September 24, and was captured on CCTV cameras installed in the area. The footage shows normal traffic movement on Bahadurke Road at around 4:35 pm, moments before the speeding car suddenly appears and collides head on with a motorcyclist and a cyclist. Car Continued Even After Initial Impact
Instead of stopping, the out of control Tiago EV went on to hit two approaching e-rickshaws and an Activa scooter, with one of the e-rickshaws overturning on the road as a result of the collision.
Five people were injured in the accident, including Jatinder Pal Singh, who was driving one of the e-rickshaws that was hit. Singh alleged that the car was travelling at a speed of approximately 100 to 120 kilometres per hour at the time of the crash, and claimed that the driver may have been intoxicated.
Police Take Driver Into Custody, Probe Underway
Salem Tabri police reached the spot after being alerted and launched an investigation into the incident. The driver of the car has been taken into police custody as authorities continue to probe the circumstances that led to the crash.
