A massive tragedy was narrowly averted in Maharashtra’s Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar during the early hours of Friday after a fire broke out at Asian Hospital. The incident occurred at approximately 2:30 AM in the Akashwani Chowk area. Upon noticing the smoke, on-duty nurses, doctors, and security personnel immediately raised the alarm and began transferring bedridden patients and newborns out of the building. Emergency responders, including local police and the fire brigade, arrived at the scene with multiple fire tenders and nearly 30 ambulances to assist with the swift evacuation process.

All nine newborns were safely shifted under medical supervision to nearby facilities, including the Government Medical College and Hospital (Ghati Hospital), MGM Hospital, and Sanjeevani Hospital. Officials confirmed that no injuries or casualties were reported among patients or staff members.
