The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has issued a formal notice to M/s Mapro Foods Pvt. Ltd., located in Lonavala within the Pune Rural district, following an official inspection that revealed multiple violations of mandatory hygiene and sanitary norms. According to communications from the FSSAI's West Region office, the regulatory audit identified various non-compliances with safety requirements prescribed under Schedule 4 of the food safety regulations.

The regulatory action against Mapro Foods arrives amid a sustained, statewide campaign targeting food safety violations across Maharashtra. The enforcement push has been heavily spearheaded by Maharashtra FDA Commissioner Tukaram Mundhe, who has overseen aggressive inspections since taking charge of the department.
Under Mundhe's leadership, the state FDA has conducted over 1,100 raids targeting wholesalers, manufacturers, retailers, and eateries.
