New Delhi, October 18: Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on Friday agreed to grant Ration Money Allowance (RMA) to the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel . The Ministry will grant the allowance to all CRPF personnel upto the level of Commandant, irrespective of place of deployment. Last month, the CRPF had stopped the RMA for its personnel due to a delay in government sanction of additional funds of Rs 800 crore for the paramilitary force. Risk and Hardship Allowance Hiked For CAPF Personnel by MHA.

The CRPF had said the issue occurred as the RMA for the 3.25 lakh-strong force was revised recently by the government. "On account of the revision of the ration money allowance made by the MHA on July 12, Rs 22,194 per head ration money (in arrears) was paid to around 2 lakh CRPF personnel in July," the force said in a statement. After Pulwama Terror Attack, CRPF Tweaks Standard Operating Procedures to Secure Its Convoys.

The allowance is given to jawans and non-gazetted officers of the force for their daily meals and is included in their monthly salaries. However, last week, the force restored the facility following the release of funds from the Centre. Every eligible person of the paramilitary force is entitled for a monthly RMA of over Rs 117 per day.
