The MNS action against theatres owners comes days after Bombay High Court (HC), while hearing a petition on food items being sold in theatres at exorbitant rates, slammed the state government over no policy on price regulation. The division bench of justices Ranjeet More and Anuja Prabhu Desai questioned as to why popcorn worth Rs 5 was being sold at Rs 250 in theatres and multiplexes.
