Hyderabad, June 21: The southwest monsoon has finally knocked the doors of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh on Friday evening and showers were witnessed at all the coastal districts of the states, said Andhra Pradesh Weather forecasting and Early Warning Research Center (AWARE). According to reports, conditions are becoming favourable for the evolution of southwest monsoon in Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Telangana, some parts of Vidarbha and others. Raja Rao, Meteorologist says, "the southwest monsoon has advanced into Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. It has covered entire Andhra Pradesh today and most parts of Telangana." Monsoon also hit the capital city Hyderabad. In Andra Pradesh, rains lashed out at Rayalaseema and Chittoor districts. Water Crisis Deepens in Tamil Nadu, Soaring Temp Adds to Woes.

In Andhra Pradesh, the highest rainfall was over Rajavommangi village (47.75mm). From June 22 to June 25, Rayalaseema district will witness isolated heavy rains and widespread moderate rains . The rainfall brought a dip in temperature, as mercury reportedly fell below 41 degree Celsius.

Meanwhile, on Thursday, Tamil Nadu's Chennai, which is facing severe water crisis, received first showers of The rain lashed out in Velachery, Porur, Nanganallur, OMR Tiruvanmiyur and Meenambakkam Madipakkam.
