Weather Conditions Affect Mumbai Operations
The disruption was linked to strong winds and adverse weather conditions around Mumbai Airport. The India Meteorological Department’s September 29 warning system also included a category for strong surface winds and other weather hazards, underscoring the need for caution during unstable conditions.
The incident highlights the role of nearby airports such as Surat in handling diverted flights when weather temporarily affects operations at Mumbai. Further movement of the eight aircraft will depend on the restoration of normal operations at Mumbai Airport.
