Mumbai, October 18: The Mumbai Police has arrested a man accused of molesting a media professional and a 14-year-old girl in Andheri’s western suburbs. According to a report published in Hindustan Times, the police traced and arrested the accused after he boasted about the incidents in front of his colleagues. The accused has been identified as 22-year-old Abdul Waris Kadir Khan. He is a resident of Assam, who has been living in the city for two-and-a-half years and works a waiter.

According to the report, on October 9, at around 8.20pm, the 22-year-old media professional was groped by Khan in front of Behrambaug police station on the New Link Road in Jogeshwari (West) when she was travelling back home from work in a rickshaw. The 22-year-old lady asked the driver to return to the spot so that she could nab him. As per the report, in another incident on October 5, Khan groped a 14-year-old girl in a rickshaw at Qureshi compound near Lokhandwala in Andheri (West). He also managed to escape after molesting the girl. Senior police inspector Shailesh Pasalvar of Oshiwara police station told Hindustan Times that the accused was arrested on October 12. He further added that Khan was handed over to the Amboli police in connection with the incident which took place on October 5. According to the report, as Khan used to laugh and boast about his actions in front of his colleagues, one of his waiter friends informed the police. The accused was detained by the Oshiwara police for questioning.
