Mumbai, August 1: Mumbai local train commuters should plan their journeys in advance as Central Railway will carry out a scheduled mega block on Sunday, August 2, affecting services on the Central and Harbour lines. The block has been announced to facilitate essential maintenance work. While several fast trains will be diverted and delayed on the Central line, a number of Harbour line services will remain suspended during the block period. There is no mega block on the Western, Transharbour and Uran lines.

Central Line Mega Block Timings

A mega block will be carried out on the Up and Down Fast Lines between Matunga and Mulund from 11.05 am to 3.45 pm.

Down fast services leaving CSMT Mumbai between 10.36 am and 3.10 pm will be diverted to the slow line between Matunga and Mulund, stopping at their scheduled stations. Similarly, Up fast services leaving Thane between 11.03 am and 3.38 pm will run on the slow line between Mulund and Matunga before rejoining the fast line. These trains are also expected to be delayed by around 15 minutes.

Harbour Line Mega Block Details

A mega block will be in force on the Up and Down Harbour Lines between CSMT and Bandra/Chunabhatti from 11.10 am to 4.40 pm.

During this period:

  • Down Harbour services from CSMT to Vashi, Belapur and Panvel departing between 11.16 am and 4.47 pm will remain suspended.
  • Down services from CSMT to Bandra and Goregaon departing between 10.48 am and 4.43 pm will also remain suspended.
  • Up Harbour services for CSMT from Panvel, Belapur and Vashi leaving between 9.53 am and 3.20 pm will remain suspended.

Special Trains and Alternate Travel

Central Railway will operate special train services between Panvel and Kurla (Platform No. 8) at a frequency of 20 minutes during the block period.

In addition, Harbour line passengers will be allowed to travel on the Main Line and Western Railway between 10 am and 6 pm to minimise inconvenience.

Will Western Line Services Be Affected?

No. There will be no mega block on the Western Line on August 2. Similarly, Transharbour Line and Uran Line services will operate normally.
