Following a surprise box-office run, the devotional drama Hanuman Ansh, starring Shobinaw Satyaa, has drawn substantial interest from digital streaming networks. Producer Ragini Sona revealed in an interview that multiple Over-The-Top (OTT) platforms are currently competing to acquire the rights to the film, which centres on the life and legacy of Neem Karoli Baba. ‘Hanuman Ansh’ Box Office: Vishal Chaturvedi’s Devotional Film Crosses INR 200 Crore Mark in India.

‘Hanuman Ansh’ OTT Platform Details Revealed?

Describing the current digital bidding landscape, producer Ragini Sona explained how streaming platforms pivoted toward the project following its theatrical surge.

Speaking exclusively to News18, Sona stated, "Yes, that’s happening (laughs). One or two – sometimes three – streaming platforms are interested in getting our film, and that feels very good. It shows that people have accepted our film and how!"

She further noted that while inbound offers surged alongside the movie's growing popularity, a direct-to-digital route was never part of the production strategy:

"Now I’m getting offers from everybody. It’s not something that we weren’t thinking of. As soon as our film started getting popular and everybody began going to see it, this started happening. We were very lucky. We were in talks with Cinepolis as distribution partners since the very beginning."

Ragini Sona Addresses Speculation and Focus on Theatrical Journey

The surge in OTT interest coincides with widespread industry rumours alleging that the film had secured an INR 100 crore digital rights deal. Addressing those reports, Sona urged audiences to dismiss speculative figures and stay focused on the movie's current theatrical run:

"It's nothing like that. It's all rumours. Please don't pay attention to it. Today, how many people are watching the film matters. What offer we are getting or what offer the platform is giving, nobody cares about it. We want you guys to watch the film in theatres and praise it and love it."

Sona clarified that the team has not locked in any agreement: "Numbers will come and go, and I want to make it clear on my team's behalf that we don't have any such offer, and we don't want any such offers either. Whatever we decide, we will discuss it within the team and take a call. You'll get to know this soon. Watch the film in theatres because even we don't know when the film will come on OTT."

‘Hanuman Ansh’ Industry Praise and Organic Turnaround

The commercial performance of Hanuman Ansh, produced on a modest budget of approximately INR 2 crore, before surpassing INR 200 crore worldwide, has earned praise from industry figures including actor Sonu Sood, who highlighted how content-driven projects can succeed without massive star power. From ‘Hanuman Ansh’ to ‘Vaazha 2’: Low-Budget Indian Movies That Made It Big at the Box Office.

The current bidding competition represents a dramatic shift for the creators. Writer-director Dr Vishal Chaturvedi previously shared that prior to its theatrical debut, streaming platforms had initially turned down the project. Following a limited initial release across a few dozen screens, strong word-of-mouth recommendations led to a global screen expansion, with the makers maintaining that an official streaming partner will be finalised only after the theatrical run concludes.
