Mumbai, July 19: The Colaba Police Station officials have helped a Sudanese citizen, who forgot his bag in a taxi in a span of just 24 hours after he lost it. A tweet of same has been shared on the Mumbai Police Twitter handle, which has been receiving a lot of appreciation for the good work done. It is a well-known fact that the Mumbai police have been compared to the world's renowned crime-cracking force Scotland Yard for their excellent work. This recent case has once again proved that why they are being given this prestigious recognition.

As per the tweet, the Sudanese citizen has not only forgotten his bag but also couldn't recollect the taxi number, which could have helped the police reach the driver. Without any clue about the driver's whereabouts, the police took the challenge and in 24 hours after the complaint was received, traced the taxi-driver and managed to return the bag to the Sudanese citizen. The Tweet also revealed that the police ensured that the immigrant could fly back to his country with fond memories of Mumbai.

In similar instances reported earlier, Mumbai police have helped the distressed people to find their lost belongings and many a time have become a helping hand during emergency situations. The incident which is fresh in public memory is that of constable Sudarshan Shinde, who saved eight people who were stuck in the fire that broke out at the Kamala Mills on December 30, 2017. The Police Constable was later felicitated by the then Police Commissioner and Mumbai Mayor for saving lives.
