Driver’s Identity Yet To Be Established
The Bandra police have launched a search for the motorist involved in the incident. "The team is gathering information about the car through CCTV footage to track down the accused," said an officer from the Bandra police station. Police said the registration number could not be recorded at the time because of the vehicle's speed, poor visibility and dazzling headlights.

He was on duty along with Sunil Kawale and officers Patil and Zajurne when the incident occurred. At around 2.20 am, a red-coloured car approached the Jarimari-Bandra Talao roadblock at high speed, Mohite said in his complaint. The police personnel signalled the driver to stop, but the motorist allegedly continued without slowing down and struck a barricade.
The impact pushed the barricade into Mohite's left hand, causing him minor injuries. The driver allegedly fled from the spot without stopping. Police personnel could not note the vehicle's registration number because of the vehicle's speed, poor visibility and dazzling headlights.
Mohite subsequently underwent a medical examination at Bhabha Hospital in Bandra West. After the medical examination, Mohite approached the Bandra police station and filed a complaint against the unidentified driver. Police registered a case on Friday and have begun further investigation.
Investigators are examining CCTV footage from the area in an attempt to establish the car's route and identify the driver. The vehicle's registration number and the driver's identity had not been established at the time of the initial investigation.
