A 16-year-old boy allegedly killed his father with an axe while he was sleeping at their rented home in Noida and later died by suicide after jumping in front of a moving Metro train, police said. The incident came to light after relatives and neighbours raised concerns when the father could not be contacted. According to police, the teenager allegedly attacked his father, Raju Sharma, early Wednesday while he was asleep. The boy reportedly remained inside the house for more than four hours before leaving, according to a report.
Later that morning, at around 7.15 am, the teenager reportedly jumped in front of a Metro train at Sector 52 station. Police subsequently recovered two mobile phones and the keys to the house from his bag. Noida Latest News Today on August 15th, 2026: Tragic Incidents, Riverfront Plan & Airport Woes.
The teenager's father had been living in the Garhi Chaukhandi area. Sharma, a tutor originally from Bokaro, had been residing in Noida since 2005. He and his son had moved into the rented accommodation around three months ago.
Relatives Discover Body
After the teenager's death, relatives were unable to contact his father. His uncle, Arun, began looking for Sharma on Thursday. Later that night, police traced the family's locked accommodation near Tikona Park after residents reported a foul smell. Using the keys recovered from the teenager, officers opened the house and found Sharma's body on the bed.
Police said blood stains were found on the wall and an axe was recovered from the room. The teenager's blood-stained clothes were also found on the floor, along with two framed photographs of his father placed near the body. Police Probe Possible Circumstances
Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the alleged killing and the teenager's subsequent death. According to the report, neighbours described Sharma as strict and said he rarely allowed his son to go outside. The teenager was reportedly not attending regular school and had become increasingly isolated. Police are examining whether these circumstances played a role in the incident.
Police have also suspected that the teenager may have been experiencing severe depression, though the exact circumstances and motive remain under investigation.
Murder Case Registered
ADCP (Central) Swatantra Kumar Singh said a murder case had been registered against the teenager on the complaint of his uncle. Police said they are collecting evidence and reconstructing the sequence of events. The investigation is continuing to establish what happened inside the house before the teenager went to the Metro station.
The case has raised questions about the teenager's reported social isolation and circumstances at home, but investigators have yet to establish a definitive motive.
