The victim was rushed to a medical facility for treatment and was discharged on September 3, only to pass away at his residence the following night. As per a report by The Times of India, the accused had already been taken into custody immediately following the assault. Son Arrested After Father Succumbs to Injuries
Police originally apprehended the suspect on August 20, initially booking him under Section 109 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for attempted murder. Following the death of the victim, investigators formally upgraded the legal charges to murder under Section 103 of the BNS.
Local station officers confirmed that the deceased person's body was seized and transferred to the District Government Hospital in Jajpur for a post-mortem examination. Authorities continue to examine the case details as legal proceedings advance against the accused individual.
