Vasai, February 15: The Palghar police along with the Food and Drugs Administration (FDA) raided two dairies on the Chinchoti Kaman Road in Vasai East. During the raids, Police have seized around 2,300 kg of adulterated paneer. Police have seized 1,800 kg of panner from Sainath Dairy which was kept in unhygienic condition, the other 500 kg of spurious paneer was seized from Ajay Dairy, located in the same vicinity. The value of the seized commodity is estimated to be around Rs 7,50,000. Vasai, Additional Superintendent of Police Vijaykant Sagar said, "Once the FDA gives its report, police would register offences against the owners of the dairies and initiate further action." He also added that the seized stock will be destroyed and the process to shut down the dairies is underway. Vegetarians Beware! Earlier on January 31, Vasai police carried out a similar raid and seized around 400 kilograms of spurious panner adulterated with sulphuric acid. A special team of Palghar police is working with food Administration officials to raid the adulterated food manufacturers in the district.
