Palnadu Road Accident: 7 Killed, 9 Injured in Bus-Auto Collision in Andhra Pradesh

Seven people, including three women, were killed and nine others were seriously injured after a private bus collided with an auto-rickshaw near Chilakaluripet in Andhra Pradesh’s Palnadu district early Thursday, according to reports. The victims were reportedly returning home after attending a birthday celebration in Prakasam district.

The accident occurred at Chilakaluripet Adda Road Centre. Victims Were Returning From Birthday Celebration

According to the report, the passengers in the auto-rickshaw were returning to their homes after attending a birthday function at Kondamunjulur in Prakasam district. The collision took place when the private bus and the three-wheeler came into contact near Chilakaluripet. Further details about the circumstances leading to the crash were not immediately available. Nine Injured, Four Shifted to Guntur

Nine people sustained serious injuries in the crash and were described as being in critical condition. Four of the injured were shifted to the Government General Hospital in Guntur for specialised treatment, while others were being treated at local medical facilities. Authorities are continuing to monitor the condition of those injured.

Ministers Express Grief

Andhra Pradesh Education and Information Technology Minister Nara Lokesh expressed grief over the deaths and said the injured would receive the best possible medical treatment. He also said the government would support the families affected by the accident.

Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan also expressed condolences to the families of the deceased. After receiving details from officials, he directed authorities to ensure proper medical care for the injured.

Kalyan also called for a special drive and inspections of private buses in the wake of the accident. Transport Minister Mandipalli Ramprasad Reddy similarly directed officials to ensure treatment for the injured and asked transport authorities to take steps to restore normal traffic movement at the accident site.

Road Safety Concerns

The latest crash has once again brought attention to road safety in Andhra Pradesh, particularly the risks associated with passenger transport on busy routes. Authorities have appealed to motorists and passengers to exercise caution and follow road safety regulations.
