According to local police authorities, the victims were members of a traditional Tasha musical band. They were traveling back from a local event when the oncoming heavy truck struck their vehicle with massive impact. Rajrappa police and local residents rushed to the spot to initiate rescue operations. First responders moved all eight victims to the Ramgarh Sadar Hospital, where doctors declared seven individuals dead on arrival. The single survivor, who remains in critical condition, was subsequently referred to a specialized facility in Ranchi for advanced medical care. Police confirmed that several of the deceased belonged to the nearby Marangmarcha village.
