Mumbai, May 26: According to a statement from the Ministry of Finance on Thursday, a unique 75 rupee coin will be released to mark the opening of the new parliament building. The currency will also honour India, which is commemorating its 75th year of independence.

The Lion Capital of the Ashoka Pillar and the phrase 'Satyamev Jayate' will appear on one side of the coin. On the left side of the coin will be the word 'Bharat' will be inscribed in Devanagari script, and on the right, the term 'India' will be marked in English. New Parliament Building Inauguration Date: PM Narendra Modi To Dedicate New Sansad Bhavan to Nation on This Day. 

Along with the Lion Capital, the coin will also bear the rupee symbol and the denominational value of 75 in international numbers. The parliament complex will be depicted on the coin's reverse. On the top peripheral, the words "Sansad Sankul" will be written in Devanagari script, while on the bottom periphery, "Parliament Complex" will be written in English.

With a 44 millimetre diameter and 200 serrations on its edges, the coin will be round in form. A four-part alloy consisting of 50% silver, 40% copper, 5% nickel, and 5% zinc will be used to make the 35-gram coin.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the new parliament building on Sunday. At least 20 opposition parties have made the decision to boycott the ceremony, even though up to 25 parties are anticipated to participate.

The decision of Prime Minister Modi to open the new parliament building rather than President Droupadi Murmu has drawn criticism from the opposition parties.
