Preliminary investigations indicate that Saurabh was deeply resentful of the victim communicating with another man. Police officials stated that a heated confrontation erupted over the issue on Thursday night, during which Saurabh allegedly strangled the victim to death in a fit of rage. To evade detection, the accused reportedly used a sharp weapon to cut the body into multiple pieces. Over the next 48 hours, he gradually disposed of the body parts in different isolated locations across the outskirts of the city. The matter came to light after the victim's parents grew suspicious due to her unresponsive phone and approached the local police station. Acting on technical surveillance and mobile location data, law enforcement tracking led to Saurabh, who confessed to the murder and the motive during interrogation. Forensic teams and local police units have recovered several remains from the indicated sites, which have been sent for post-mortem analysis. A formal case has been registered under the relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for murder and causing the disappearance of evidence as the investigation continues.
