Mathura, November 5: In two separate accidents on Sunday, five people including three children of CBSE joint secretary, were killed on the Yamuna Expressway. As per reports, the incidents took place at Uttar Pradesh’s Mathura and Hathras districts. At around 5:30 am, a speeding truck rammed a car in Mathura. The second incident took place in Hathras district around 9.30 a.m. Four people were reported dead including three children of CBSE joint secretary Ram Shankar. The victims have been identified as Prashant, Prabhas, Prachita and Mohan Gupta. Gupta was travelling to Delhi with his colleague Ashish Agrawal and driver Brijesh when the accident occurred. Meanwhile, Shankar’s children were heading to Agra in their car. Yamuna Expressway is a 6-lane, 165 km long which connects Greater Noida with Agra. The highway runs through ix districts — Gautam Budh Nagar (Noida), Bulandshahr, Mathura, Hathras, Aligarh and Agra. Yesterday, a reply to an RTI query by Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has revealed that PWD engineers have identified only three ‘black spots’ which reported the highest number of accidents on Yamuna Expressway, reported The Times of India.  Two spots are in the Greater Noida area and one in Mathura.
