Sahil Goyal Says Siya Wanted To Marry Ketan, Not Chetan
According to Sahil, Siya had repeatedly told him that she intended to marry Ketan Agarwal and wanted to end any association with Chetan. "Siya told me that she wanted to spend her life with Ketan and didn't want anything to do with Chetan. She assured me that there was nothing between them."
Explaining why he never informed their parents about Siya's friendship with Chetan, Sahil said: "She swore on her life that she would only marry Ketan and have no contact with Chetan. So, I did not tell anyone about Siya and Chetan." He maintained that he believed the two were only friends. Claims About Wedding Preparations
Sahil also claimed Siya was actively preparing for her marriage to Ketan and was excited about their future together. "She spent hours planning her pre-wedding photoshoot with Ketan. She picked her favourite songs and locations for the shoot. She would discuss all this with Ketan for hours on video calls."
He added that Siya appeared uncertain about her bond with Chetan. "She told me they were friends and that she enjoyed his company. She was confused about the nature of the relationship. I tried to explain to her that sometimes people confuse friendship for love, but it's okay. It happens at a young age. I did not tell anyone about it as she herself was not sure. And she told me she wanted to move ahead with Ketan."
Police Probe Contradicts Brother's Version
Police sources, however, have indicated that the investigation points to a different sequence of events. According to sources, investigators believe Siya did not want to marry Ketan and had informed Sahil about it. Police are also probing whether Sahil knew about Siya's relationship with Chetan but chose not to disclose it to the family.
At this stage, Sahil has not been named as an accused, and investigators are continuing to verify his statements. Investigators are also examining the testimony of the driver who took Siya to the airport ahead of the planned pre-wedding photoshoot.
According to the driver's statement, when Siya allegedly refused to leave, Sahil is said to have forced her into the vehicle. Police are also looking into Sahil's conduct after Ketan's passport was reportedly torn before the couple's planned Bali trip.
Investigators are corroborating these incidents with Sahil's statement to determine whether he had any role in the alleged conspiracy or remained silent despite knowing key developments.
The case has increasingly focused on whether the alleged murder was pre-planned and whether anyone beyond the two primary accused had prior knowledge of the events leading up to the crime.
Ketan Agarwal was allegedly murdered at Lohagad Fort on June 18. Police have arrested Siya Goyal and Chetan, who remain in custody in connection with the case. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities have not announced any charges against Sahil Goyal.
