Why 8th Pay Commission Extended the Data Submission Deadline to July 31
The 8th Central Pay Commission has extended the deadline for ministries and UTs to submit employee data via its online portal to July 31. Only portal submissions are accepted. The panel will also visit Bhubaneswar on July 6-7 for stakeholder consultations, ahead of finalising its comprehensive recommendations by mid-2027.
The 8th Central Pay Commission (8th CPC) has extended the deadline for government ministries and departments to submit required personnel data through its online portal until July 31. According to an official communication, the extension was granted after multiple ministries, departments, and Union Territories informed the Commission that they were unable to complete the data compilation process within the original timeframe.
Mandatory Digital Submissions
The Commission has directed all concerned authorities and nodal officers to ensure that the required information is uploaded strictly through the designated Data Collection Portal by the revised end-of-month deadline. 8th Pay Commission Arrears: How Much Level 1-5 Employees Could Get With 2.0 to 2.86 Fitment Factors.
To maintain administrative efficiency, the panel clarified that any data submitted outside the portal will be automatically rejected. Submissions made through physical copies, emails, Excel sheets, PDF files, or any mode other than the official online system will not be accepted by the Commission. This extensive data collection exercise is a critical component of the 8th Pay Commission’s ongoing consultations and assessment process. The gathered metrics will directly shape the panel's upcoming recommendations regarding the revision of pay, allowances, and pension structures for millions of central government employees and retirees.
Bhubaneswar Consultation Visit
In a separate development, the 8th Pay Commission is scheduled to visit Bhubaneswar, Odisha, on July 6 and 7. The two-day visit is part of the panel’s broader nationwide consultation strategy to gather regional feedback on salary scales, pension policies, and service-related structural reforms. According to an official notice issued by the Ministry of Finance, the Commission has invited central government organisations, institutional bodies, employee associations, and recognised unions interested in interacting with the panel during the Bhubaneswar visit to seek their appointments online. 8th Pay Commission Salary Hike: How Much Will Your Salary Increase if Fitment Factor Is Fixed at 1.83?
