‘Will Speak to Her, but Don’t Troll Her Father’: Himanta Biswa Sarma on Dibisa Mahanta Joining NEET Protest and Abusing Narendra Modi
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Saturday reacted after Dibisa Mahanta, daughter of Assam Cabinet Minister Keshab Mahanta, joined protests against alleged irregularities in the NEET examination. "Will talk to her, but don't troll her father. She may not follow her father's political ideology," the Chief Minister said while responding to videos of Dibisa Mahanta participating in the student-led protest.

In a video from the protest in Guwahati's Chachal area, Dibisa criticised the handling of the NEET examination and expressed support for protesting students. She said the government had failed to conduct the examination responsibly and vowed to continue protesting until justice was delivered. She also described the alleged question paper leak as a national issue and praised students for continuing their agitation despite facing lathi charge and tear gas. Separate videos from the same protest, widely shared on social media, also showed Dibisa joining protesters in raising the slogan, "Neem Ka Patta Kadwa Hai, Modi Sala Bh*dwa Hai." Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma Inaugurates 3D Printing Centre in Guwahati.
The demonstrations, led by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) and student groups, demanded education reforms, accountability over the alleged NEET paper leak and the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
The remarks by Himanta Biswa Sarma have since sparked discussion online, with many debating the balance between personal political beliefs and family affiliations.
