A dispute over taking a pet dog in a lift at Ghaziabad's Windsor Paradise Society escalated into a physical altercation between two women on Saturday, September 12. A schoolteacher has alleged that she was stopped from entering the lift by a woman accompanying her pet dog and was subsequently pulled by her hair, hit with a stick and slapped several times.

The incident took place at around 3 pm on September 12, and CCTV footage of the altercation emerged on Sunday, Bhaskar English reported. The teacher, identified as Hina Bari, has filed a complaint at Nandgram police station seeking action. Dispute Begins Over Dog In Lift

Hina Bari lives with her family in Windsor Paradise-2 and works as a teacher at a school in Indirapuram. According to Hina, she returned from school at around 3 pm on September 12 and reached the society. Shweta Sube was already inside the lift with her pet dog.

“She told me to take another lift. I said I would stand to the side. According to the victim, when the dispute escalated, Shweta hit me with a stick. When I tried to stop her, she started slapping me and threatened me while hurling abuse. The society guard attempted to intervene during the incident. Despite his intervention, the dispute continued.

CCTV footage shows the two women pushing and allegedly assaulting each other during the confrontation. Later, the guard himself escorted Hina from the lift to her flat.

Following the incident, Hina Bari submitted a written complaint at Nandgram police station. She has asked the police to investigate the matter and register an FIR against the woman accused, as well as take legal action.

Police are investigating the matter on the basis of CCTV footage and the complaint. They have registered a case under an NCR, or non-cognisable report. Further action will depend on the police investigation and findings from the available evidence.

Pet Dog Disputes In Housing Societies

The incident has once again brought attention to disagreements over taking pet dogs in lifts and the broader issue of interactions between pet owners and other residents in housing societies.
