Patna, March 5: Senior BJP leader and Bihar Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha was snubbed by the family of CRPF martyr Pintu Kumar Singh, who died while combating with militants in Jammu & Kashmir. The slain jawan's kin was visited by Sinha on Monday -- a day after they marked dissent against the Nitish Kumar government for failing to send a representative to receive the mortal remains at the Patna airport.

At the martyr's funeral held in Dhyan Chakki village of Begusarai district two days ago, no Minister was present. The state regime was occupied with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's high-spectacle rally in Patna, which launched the NDA's campaign for Lok Sabha elections 2019 in the state. BJP Keen on Playing Politics over Dead Bodies of CRPF Jawans: Bengal CM.

The bereaved family had marked their apprehension on Sunday, questioning whether a poll rally has more priority for the government than the mortal remains of a jawan.

After reports emerged that the family has aired its dissent against the government, JD(U) vice president Prashant Kishor tweeted an apology. "We are sorry for the error of judgement on part of those of us who should have been there with you in this hour of grief," he said.

Sinha, the State Labour Department Minister, was sent the next day to placate the aggrieved family. The martyr's brother, however, refused to share their grief with the BJP leader, saying that he should have joined them for the funeral procession, or paid his final respects at the Patna airport where the mortal remains had arrived. Even as they marked their dissent, the family urged PM Modi to extract revenge from Pakistan.
