Kolkata, December 18: The Calcutta High Court has asked the Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) to give three tentative dates for the 'Rath Yatra'. The Court also asked Advocate General for the video footage of the meeting held between BJP delegates and the state government on December 13. The matter has been fixed for hearing for tomorrow. On Saturday, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress government denied the permission for the BJP’s ‘Rath Yatra’.

The state government had also faxed its decision to the state headquarter of the saffron party. However, BJP state unit chief Dilip Ghosh had said that they would appeal to the single bench of the West Bengal High Court and if required will go to jail for the cause. Earlier in December, BJP president Amit Shah had also said that the party would "definitely" carry out 'yatras' in West Bengal and "nobody can stop it" from doing so.

Shah’s comments came a day after the Calcutta High Court refused the BJP permission to hold a 'Rath Yatra' in Coochbehar, following the state government expressing apprehensions of violence. Meanwhile, Banerjee on Saturday also called chief secretary, State police DG, ADG (law and order), ADG (IB) and other senior officials at Nabanna (state secretariat) to discuss whether the permission be given or not.
