New Delhi, January 13: Delhi’s Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) on Monday issued two notices to Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and one notice to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for violating the Model Code of Conduct. The notice is also in regard to violation of instructions issued by the Election Commission and National Commission for Protection of Child Rights for political parties, reported ANI. The Election Commission of India (ECI) on January 6 announced the date for the Delhi Assembly Elections 2020. With the announcement of the poll date, the Model Code of Conduct (MCC), also known as Aachar Sanhita come into effect immediately. The polling in Delhi for the assembly election will take place on February 8 (single phase) and the counting of votes will take place on February 11. The BJP and AAP are involved in an intense online campaigning ahead of the assembly elections 2020 in Delhi. The Aam Aadmi Party has specifically been targeting BJP Delhi unit chief Manoj Tiwari.
Recently, the BJP served defamation notice to Delhi Chief Minister and AAP Convener Arvind Kejriwal on his party's theme song "Lage Raho Kejriwal", in which AAP used the clippings of the songs of Bhojpuri films featuring Delhi BJP President and MP Manoj Tiwari. The party's theme song "Lage Raho Kejriwal" was tweeted by AAP on January 11. On Twitter, AAP captioned the song, "This song is so good that even Sir Manoj Tiwari is also dancing on it".
