Srinagar, June 4: In a major development, the Election Commission of India (ECI) on Tuesday announced that Assembly election in Jammu and Kashmir will be held considered later this year. The EC will announce the election schedule after the conclusion of Amarnath Yatra. The Amarnath Yatra will start on July 2 and conclude on August 15. So elections are likely to held post-August. The Election Commission said that it will monitor the situation in Jammu and Kashmir on a real-time basis and on a regular interval. And after taking all necessary inputs from the quarter, it will announce the poll schedule following the holy pilgrimage.
