The results of the Kollam Lok Sabha Constituency has been declared. NK Premachandran of Revolutionary Socialist Party (RSP), Congress-led UDF's ally won the seat yet again by a margin of 1,48,856 votes. Other candidates in the fray included KN Balagopal of the Communist Party of India (Marxist), Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) candidate Sudheer LG and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate KV Sabu. Polling took place for the Kollam Lok Sabha Constituency in the third phase. Kollam is a city located on the southern part of the Indian state of Kerala. Located in the Malabar segment of the state, the city is known for being a major trade centre and its clean beaches. Kollam was part of the Mavelikara constituency till 1957. It became a Lok Sabha constituency after the delimitation exercise of 1957. In 2008, Quilon constituency became Kollam.

The constituency number of Kollam is 18. Kollam Lok Sabha constituency comprises of seven assembly segments including Chavara, Punalur, Chadayamangalam, Kundara, Kollam and Eravipuram. CPI(M) gave the ticket to Rajya Sabha member KN Balagopal with the task of regaining Kollam, however, couldn't. In 2014, RSP's NK Premachandran had defeated CPM leader MA Baby. In the 2014 election, the RSP had switched from the LDF to the UDF. Kollam will witness a two-sided fight between the Left and RSP. Since its delimitation, the Congress has been voted to power only four times with RSP winning all other times.

The Lok Sabha elections 2019 was held between April 11 and May 19 in seven phases. In Kerala, voting was held in a single phase. During the third phase, the polling was held in 115 Lok Sabha constituencies of 14 states. The counting of votes was held on May 23 and thereafter the results were declared.
