Puri, April 7: In the run up to the Lok Sabha Elections 2019 which are slated to begin from April 11, an 84-year old man from Odisha is determined to contest the polls even this year despite losing 32 times in  elections since 1962. According to a tweet by ANI, Dr Shyam Babu Subudhi has contested Lok Sabha, Assembly & Rajya Sabha polls as an independent since 1962. Subudhi said he has faced loss each since then but will continue the fight against corruption. "I fought elections 32 times. I've to continue the fight against corruption. My election symbol is a bat & has'PM candidate' written on it", Subudhi was quoted by ANI.  Odisha Assembly Elections 2019 Schedule: Polling for All 147 Seats in four phases, Counting of Votes on May 23.

The 84-year-old said he will fight Lok Sabha elections from Aska and Berhampur constituencies in Odisha.  He said he does he poll campaigning on his own. "I am going to fight Lok Sabha elections from Aska and Berhampur. I campaign on my own in trains, buses and at market places. It does not matter whether I win or lose. Polling in Odisha will be held in four phases between April 11 to April 29. The first phase will be held on April 11, second on April 18, third on April 23 and fourth on April 29. Meanwhile, the results will be declared on May 23. The assembly elections will be held along with the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.
